Shana Tova Turning and Returning to JoyAs we stand at the threshold of a new year, our hearts are heavy with the weight of all we’ve endured over the past year, yet buoyed by the resilience of our spirit and the strength of our community. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has touched us all deeply. We hold in our prayers those who suffer and we yearn for a just and lasting peace. Our thoughts are especially with the hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza – may they soon be reunited with their loved ones in safety and freedom. This past year, our community has also experienced profound loss closer to home. We pause to honor the memory of the many lights of renewal who have left us – teachers, leaders, and friends whose wisdom and dedication illuminated our path. Their legacies continue to inspire and guide us, even as we mourn their physical absence. In these challenging times, we are called to embody the essence of renewal that defines our community. Let us turn and return to joy, not as an escape from reality, but as a powerful affirmation of life and hope. Our tradition teaches us that even in the darkest moments, we can find sparks of light and nurture them into flames of transformation. As we enter this new year, let us recommit ourselves to the work of tikkun olam – repairing the world. Through our actions, prayers, and intentions, may we contribute to healing, understanding, and peace. Let us draw strength from our rich spiritual traditions and from each other, creating circles of support and compassion that ripple outward.May this year bring renewed hope, unexpected blessings, and progress towards reconciliation. May we find the courage to face challenges with open hearts and the wisdom to cultivate joy even in difficult times.L’Shana Tova – to a good year. May it be a year of healing, of homecoming for those separated from their loved ones, and of turning towards a future bright with the promise of peace. With blessings and hope,SooJi Min-Maranda#ALEPH #communityfirst #healingtogether
