The process for lodging a complaint within ALEPH varies depending on the roles of the complainant and the individual being complained about. To learn about the ALEPH Ethics Policy, please visit the policy here.

Guidance for filing a complaint:

  • If a complaint is about a Jewish Renewal clergy member who is not on staff at ALEPH or a facilitator or instructor at an ALEPH event, the complainant should contact the OHALAH Ethics Committee or the OHALAH Ethics Chair, Rabbi Karyn Berger karynberger@yahoo.com.
  • If you attended an ALEPH event like Kallah and have concerns regarding a potential violation of the Safety, Respect, and Equity (SRE) Anti-Harassment Code of Conduct, please contact SooJi Min-Maranda, Executive Director, at soojim@aleph.org.
  • If the complaint is about an employee of ALEPH, contact the Executive Director, SooJi Min Maranda at soojim@aleph.org. The Executive Director will provide an explanation of the process and other potential complaint avenues for filing a grievance as appropriate.
  • If you are a student in the ALEPH Ordination Program (AOP), you should follow the process in the AOP Grievance Policy.
  • If the complaint is about the Executive Director, and you are an employee of ALEPH, please contact the Ombudsperson, Susan Willson, susan@togetherworksrc.com.
  • If the complaint is about the Executive Director, and you are not an employee of ALEPH, please fill out the form below which goes to the Chair of the ALEPH Ethics Committee, Rabbi Susan Shamash or email polskyshamash@gmail.com.
