Come refresh your spirit for five glorious spring days in the hill country of Northern California! Embody the roots of Jewish Renewal through the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov (the BeShT), the great 18^th century shaman, mystic and healer! Through dance and chant, moving prayer and creative ritual, we’ll explore some of the BeShT’s core teachings on joy, sweetening suffering, and connecting with the Divinity inside ourselves and in the world. Enjoy delicious, fresh food in a rustic, country setting. Rabbi Diane Elliot and Rabbi Rivkah Coburn will serve as your guides on this mystic mythic journey. Anyone ready to move and be moved by spirit is welcome! Limited to 18 participants.

Rabbi Diane Elliot is a ritual leader, spiritual director, writer, and pioneer of Jewish embodiment, based in the Bay Area. Ordained at the Academy for Jewish Religion, California, she has been active for more than 25 years in Jewish Renewal. Before her ordination she enjoyed a 25-year career as a modern dancer, choreographer, and teacher of the somatic movement modality Body-Mind Centering®. She created and directs ALEPH’s Embodying Spirit programs, serves as founding faculty of the Taproot Community, and has authored four books of sacred poetry, most recently Traces, Poems, Prayers, Torah (Hakodesh Press, 2024) You can learn more about her work at www.whollypresent.org.
