Sally Robinson Heckelman's Cantorial Ordination Fund
Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues,
I am honored to be receiving ordination in January 2023 as a Hazzan through the ALEPH Ordination Program.
Studying in this program has enriched my life, learning, connection to Judaism and spiritual leadership.
I discovered my passion for leading prayer services after many years as an Early Childhood and Jewish Music Educator and Social Worker. Music is a way of connecting with people. Singing prayers uplifts and touches our souls, helping us connect to God. Serving as a Hazzan seemed like a natural progression for the next chapter in my life; it is the fulfillment of my professional dream.
I greatly value the experience and opportunity I had to be part of the ALEPH Ordination Program. I have been immersed in Jewish learning through our sacred texts, liturgy, music, history, mystical thought, and pastoral training. In an environment that encourages innovation and creative expression, I learned how to weave the contemporary with the traditional in Jewish prayer, elevating the prayer experience for the congregation.
Please consider making a donation in honor of my ordination. Your donation to ALEPH will go toward financial aid to students, ensuring that future generations will continue to benefit from the extraordinary ordination program.
Thank you for your support.
B’vracha,
Sally Heckelman
