Safety, Respect, and Equity: A Session for ALEPH Communities

With the support of the SRE Network, ALEPH is taking steps to better understand our
membership’s organizational culture pertaining to safety and respect and to gain insight about how we can make our work and communal spaces safer and more respectful, equitable, and inclusive, for all who choose to be part of the ALEPH community.

In collaboration with Sacred Spaces, ALEPH is encouraging our members to participate in a Safety, Respect, and Equity Assessment Survey in 2024. All survey data is being collected and analyzed directly by Sacred Spaces. Only Sacred Spaces will see individual responses and ALEPH will receive data without identifying information for use and consideration in assessing current policies and processes. Each participant’s input is vital in providing insight on the current culture of ALEPH and guiding our future work.

A training and information session with Sacred Spaces will be held on Sunday, December 17 from 7:00 – 8:30pm ET. 

This training will provide an overview of behaviors that undermine safety, respect, and equity for those who work in and access Jewish organizations and the role of policies and protocols in helping prevent and respond to misconduct when it does occur. Time will also be spent discussing a unique opportunity being offered to Alliance organizations to find out from their staff, volunteers, and members what they perceive as working in their organizations and what needs to be improved in promoting safety, respect, and equity.

To assist in planning, Sacred Spaces created a short optional questionnaire to capture any questions you may be bringing to the training. Only Sacred Spaces will see the responses. Click here to complete the questionnaire. 

We will hold two Office Hours for ALEPH members to connect after the training to ask additional questions to Sacred Spaces staff and learn more about implementing the survey in their respective communities.
