The name of month of ELUL which precedes the High Holy Days, is sometimes considered an acronym for a phrase from the Song of Songs:

Ani l’dodi v’Dodi li.

אֲנִי לְדוֹדִי וְדוֹדִי לִי

I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine. (Song of Songs 6:3)

The great mystical poet, Rumi, says, “To Find the Beloved you must become the Beloved.” The month of Elul is a time of encountering the Mystery, clearing away burdens of the past through practices of forgiveness and reconciliation, and  T’SHUVAH, returning to our true essence. To know yourself as Beloved, is to know your true essence.

We will come together on retreat to explore the Mystery, celebrate the journey, deepen our love, and support each other in practices of T’SHUVAH, as we prepare for the possibilities of renewal. In this safe, beautiful and sacred space, through equal measures of effort and grace, those possibilities can be realized.
