Sustaining Chai Gift
Rabbi Zalman z”l believed deeply that Renewal clergy–rabbis, cantors, rabbinic chaplains and other klei kodesh affiliated with ALEPH–should share a heartfelt commitment to ALEPH’s mission. As a meaningful expression of that shared commitment, we invite all of those entering our programs to begin their journey by making a symbolic and lasting contribution–starting with a lifetime pledge of $18 per month (minimum) in support of ALEPH’s ongoing work.
From Spiritual Economics by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi z”l:
“Wherever possible, we must look for ways to help others in the world of assiyah/the world of action. For ourselves, we need to create place where the needs of yetzirah/feeling can be met. We need places where people offer friendship and love, where we treat other human beings as having the right to spiritual and emotional nourishment.
All of us also need to be sure that we give as well as take…When we do this right, we will have this mutual exchange of energy and we will again speak of real fellowship. When a real fellowship meets to share Torah, a very significant dialogue takes place. And it creates a place where every soul is fargin–generously given the opportunity–to meet the God within himself, within herself.”
Thank you for helping to build fellowships at ALEPH!
